ABOUT YOUR COACH
Debbie Keating
Hi, I’m Debbie, a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach with 20+ years of nursing experience. After years at the bedside, I saw how often chronic illnesses like heart disease, diabetes, and obesity were treated—but rarely prevented. That’s what led me to lifestyle medicine.
Through evidence-based strategies and a client-centered approach, I help individuals improve their health with sustainable changes in nutrition, movement, stress management, and more. I meet clients with empathy, support, and practical tools—no judgment, just real solutions.
Personally, I’ve experienced the benefits of lifestyle medicine myself. It’s helped me reduce joint pain, stay active, and continue enjoying the adventures I love. I believe that with the right support, everyone has the power to create meaningful, lasting change.
Your wellness matters—let’s take the first step together.
Our Approach
CHRONIC DISEASE
Lifestyle medicine offers powerful tools for preventing and even reversing chronic conditions like heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and some cancers. Research shows that simple changes—like eating whole foods, staying active, maintaining a healthy weight, and avoiding tobacco—can be more effective than medication alone.
If you're managing a health condition or want support in following your doctor’s recommendations, I can help. As a certified Health & Wellness Coach, I work with clients one-on-one to create achievable goals and provide ongoing support between medical visits—so you stay motivated, on track, and confident in your progress.
Nutrition
Feeling overwhelmed by conflicting nutrition advice? You’re not alone. With so many diet trends—omnivore, low-carb, keto, vegan, Mediterranean, intermittent fasting, and more—it can be hard to know what truly supports your health. Unfortunately, much of the information out there is misleading or not evidence-based. According to the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, a predominantly whole-food, plant-based diet is one of the most effective approaches for preventing and reversing chronic disease.
Whether you already have specific nutrition goals or are simply seeking clarity, I can help. Together, we’ll create sustainable changes tailored to your lifestyle and health needs—grounded in science, not fads.
Fitness
The American College of Lifestyle Medicine recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate activity—or 75 minutes of vigorous activity—each week, along with strength training two or more days per week.
If you’re wondering how to fit that into your busy life, you’re not alone. The good news is, movement doesn’t have to be overwhelming or time-consuming. With the right approach, you can build physical activity into your routine in a way that feels natural and sustainable. Even small increases in movement can lead to better sleep, improved energy, and easier weight management. Let’s work together to find what fits your lifestyle and supports your long-term health goals.
Work-Life Balance
Life gets busy, and even when you know it’s time for a change, it can be hard to know where to start. That’s why I offer a free 30-minute discovery call—to explore your lifestyle, goals, challenges, and health concerns in a supportive, no-pressure conversation. Let’s work together to put you back in control of your time and your well-being.
When was the last time you allowed yourself a quiet hour to relax, read, or simply rest? Or made time for sleep, movement, or a nourishing meal? If it’s been a while, you’re not alone—and I’m so glad you’re here. Your health matters, and I’m here to help you reclaim it.
Stress
Stress is a part of life—but when it becomes chronic, it can take a serious toll on both physical and mental health. Over time, it can deplete your energy, suppress immunity, raise blood pressure, disrupt digestion, and impact mood, focus, and overall well-being.
Recognizing your stress triggers is the first step. Setting boundaries around toxic situations or beliefs helps protect your peace. Mindfulness, positive connections, and a focus on what’s going well can reduce stress and build resilience. With effective stress management, you can be more present and show greater compassion—for yourself and others.
Self Care
With so little time to spare, it’s easy to put your own needs last. But prioritizing self-care isn’t selfish—it’s essential. As your coach, I can help you discover practical, meaningful ways to relax, recharge, and restore your well-being, even within a busy schedule.
Whether it’s breathing exercises, nature walks, journaling, meditation, music, yoga, a hot bath, or simply a quiet moment to yourself—there are countless ways to nourish your body and mind. Together, we’ll find what resonates most with you and build it into your routine in a way that feels doable and restorative. Don’t just give yourself permission for self-care—make that time sacred.
Because your peace matters. Your energy matters. Your wellness matters.
Sleep
Adults ages 18 and older are recommended to get at least 7 hours of sleep each night. Establishing a consistent nighttime routine can make a big difference in achieving quality, restorative rest.
Chronic sleep deprivation has been linked to a range of serious health issues, including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity, and depression. It can also impact memory, focus, mood, immune function, libido, balance, appetite regulation, and increase inflammation and fatigue. Prioritizing healthy sleep habits isn’t just about feeling rested—it’s a powerful tool for healing, recovery, and long-term wellness. Small changes in your sleep routine can lead to better nights and brighter days.
Community
Living a healthy life is easier—and more enjoyable—when you're supported by a like-minded community. Shared habits like nutritious eating, regular physical activity, meaningful social connections, and low-stress lifestyles can reinforce your commitment to wellness.
Strong social ties are a common thread in Blue Zone communities—regions known for longevity and vibrant health. A sense of belonging, purpose, and connection can bring joy, meaning, and energy to your everyday life. So, who’s in your circle? Who lifts you up and supports your goals? Your community matters—just as much as your choices.
