I like adventure. This is me, on an adventure. Travel reminds me I am on a beautiful planet, with beautiful people, cultures, and traditions. I want to stay healthy, so I can continue to explore this beautiful planet.

Through my 20 year background in nursing, I have witnessed the effects of chronic disease on patients and their families, and am familiar with the struggles of patients battling these preventable diseases. Hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, arthritis, and many other health conditions are all too common in our culture. Traditional healthcare focuses on disease treatment, not disease prevention. There are however, strategies proven to improve if not restore some health conditions through lifestyle medicine. Through my certification by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine I gained knowledge and information from evidence based studies that can be utilized to improve health and wellness.  Although bedside nursing was my calling and brought me great satisfaction in caring for patients, I began to search for other ways to care for patients. Now a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, I help clients improve their health by exploring  options, opportunities, and philosophies towards health and wellness. I appreciate the uniqueness of each client’s health situation and challenges, and offer them nonjudgmental guidance in setting and reaching health goals. I strive to provide professional expertise and emotional support to clients burdened with overwhelming health challenges,  with authenticity, empathy and understanding.

On a personal note, I not only believe in the health promotion guidelines of lifestyle medicine,  I try  to consistently implement it in my life as well. I too, am a work in progress and find helping others encourages me to stay true to my own goals. Being free from former joint pain, I am motivated to continue with lifestyle medicine recommendations.

I utilize positive psychology and mindfulness to encourage confidence, uncover inner strength, resolve, and personal growth to make healthy changes in clients. Through exploration of personal values, clients discover their motivation and incentive to change.      

I believe everyone has the capacity  for meaningful change given the right support, guidance, and information. No matter where you are on the illness wellness continuum, why not invest in your health and wellness ? If you don’t know where to start, are desiring a change, or need guidance in how to change health habits, I would love to provide client centered and individual attention to your health and wellness goals.
